Sharing Panopto Videos

The viewer must have the correct permissions to view your video. 

You can share your video

• by adding specific people to the video using their lehigh email address,
• or change the access to allow anyone at lehigh to view it,
• or anyone at all.

The sharing permissions for Panopto work much the same way as Google or Dropbox file sharing.  You can share an entire folder or an individual video. 

• Restricted: Share the video with specific people and groups as viewers.

• Your Organization (unlisted): Anyone at your organization with whom you've shared the link. 

• Your Organization: Anyone at your organization can find and access the video. (Do not Use)

• Public (unlisted): Anyone with whom you've shared the link can access the video. 

• Public: Anyone can find and access this video. (Do not Use)

Make Your Videos Available as a WebLink

Anyone can share their Panopto video or a Panopto folder by using a URL. 

To share your video, keep Panopto browser window open.  

You can now share a link to your new video as needed.

1. Hover your mouse over the video you wish to edit.
2. Click on Share icon.
3. Copy the link listed. (COPY -highlight link & CTRL C)
4. Then paste it into an email, course assignment, word doc, or slack message – (however, you wish) to send the link to your video.

Note: Faculty and Students, if you use the default Panopto course folder for your course site, the proper permissions should be set automatically.

Panopto Folder Permissions

You can update your folder to the correct sharing permissions.

1. Go to your folder that you wish to share
2. Go to settings (gear icon) in upper right 
3. Navigate to share
4. Change sharing permissions

Please note: "My Folder" can't be shared, but subfolders can be.
