Install SPSS locally on Windows or macOS

If you have a need to do a significant amount of work in SPSS, a local installation may provide more performance or convenience than using it via LUapps.   Follow these instructions to install the program onto your computer.


1.  Download the installer from software.lehigh.edu.

  1. In a web browser, navigate to https://software.lehigh.edu.
  2. Click the "Log In" button, and enter your Lehigh username and password.
  3. In the search bar, enter SPSS, and click on the entry for IBM SPSS/PASW Statistics.
  4. Click the row for the version you need, and click the big green "Download" button.

2.  Start the Installer

  1. Find the installer in your 'Downloads' folder, and double-click it to run it.
  2. Click 'Continue' or 'Next' to perform a default installation.

3.  Accept the License Agreement

  1. Click 'Continue' on the Mac, or 'I accept the terms . . ' on Windows. 

4.  Run the Installation

  1. On the Mac, click 'Install' to accept the default installation location, and on Windows, click 'Next', and then 'Install'.

5.  Click Finish to Close the Installer


6.  Activate the Installation following the instructions in "Activate IBM SPSS Statistics"
