Administrative rights (Windows)
If you are trying to install software and are prompted for administrative credentials that you do not have (username/password), try these steps…
First, right-click on the executable file that you have downloaded and choose Run as Administator. That step may let you initiate an installation. If not, go to step 2.
Go to the system tray in the lower right corner of your screen and look for a “green checkmark” icon.
Click on the icon and from the menu chose “Request administrator access.”
Fill out the form that pops up.
You will see the message below.
In a short period of time you should receive an email provisioning you with time-limited admin rights to your device.
Notes:
If you are working during off-hours, the time to receive rights may be longer than normal.
Generally the timeframe to do the installation is three hours.
Special instructions for Respondus Users
Some staff members taking classes at other institutions may need to install Respondus to take tests or exams. To do this…
Find the green check in the lower right corner of the desktop (in the system tray).
Click on the green check icon and from the dropdown menu, click on “Request administrator access.”
Fill out the form that pops up – indicate you need to install Respondus in the comment/reason blank.
You will see the message below.

When you are provisioned, right-click on Chrome and choose Run as Administrator…
Follow instructions provided by your institution or professor to install Respondus.
