Web Camera & Conferencing Kits
To borrow any of the following equipment please contact inmediad@lehigh.edu.
We have conferencing kits available for loan at the Digital Media Studio. Each conference kit includes a ClearOne Chat 170 and a Logitech C920 webcam. The Chat 170 is an all-in-one speaker and microphone, designed for small, in-person meetings and conferences. Both devices are compatible with Zoom and Panopto.
The Chat 170 connects to your computer via a mini USB to USB-A cable. Each kit also comes with extra USB extension cables, allowing you to position the microphone further away from the computer if needed. For optimal audio quality, place the microphone in the center of the group; closer proximity to the microphone will result in better sound. Volume controls on the unit allow you to increase or decrease the speaker volume or mute the microphone. The microphone's audio level is automatic.
The Logitech C920 is a high-definition webcam capable of 1080p video at 30 frames per second. It features a 78-degree diagonal field of view, a Carl Zeiss lens, and autofocus. The webcam also includes stereo audio with dual microphones and a built-in microphone. It has a USB-A cable attached.
Another kit that is available for conferencing is the Owl conference kit. This kit is a 360 degree camera, microphone, and speaker, all in one. Please see this page for more information on the Owl.
For audio only, we offer Sennheiser TeamConnect mics. They excel at capturing audio from multiple locations around the room with their four microphones. Each kit includes a base microphone, which connects to the computer via micro USB to USB-A. The base microphone then connects wirelessly to the three satellite microphones. Each microphone has a touch-sensitive volume slider that appears on top of the mic once the base microphone is connected to a computer. This kit also includes a charging case for the microphones.
Miniature tripods are also available for stabilizing the Logitech C920, or you can set the web camera on top of a monitor or laptop screen using its attached articulating base.
