Some campus resources are blocked from off-campus access unless you first launch the VPN (virtual private network.) See VPN Documentation.Reserved hostnames: Faculty and staff may request a reserved hostname (e.g. abc123.mat.lehigh.edu) for any device connected to a department ETHERNET network via LAN cable (but not for wireless.) All devices must use DHCP, so IP addresses are subject to change. Limited to on-campus use, unless circumstance warrants a firewall exception (requests are scrutinized regularly.)
Remote Desktop into a campus desktop Windows AD PC requires VPN as well as Duo authentication. Configuring a PC for remote access requires multiple steps specific to Lehigh’s environment, not simply the Windows 11 Settings. Faculty, Staff and Grad Students are able to use the Admin By Request (ABR) tool in the system tray to Enable Remote Desktop and Add Remote Users. Special consideration must be given to remote into Intune PCs from Non-Intune PCs, so we recommend contacting ITS for guidance before attempting to set up remote access to any Lehigh PC.

Try this first before submitting an request for Admin
