Citation/Attribution for Podcasts
Quoting from articles, books, talks, archival sound, etc.
If you read an excerpt of an article, blog or other copyrighted work, you should credit the source verbally within the context of your podcast. This is usually done before reading the quote, to avoid audience confusion.
Podcast episode notes
For podcasts with an accompanying website, you can simply put show notes above or below your podcast to cite the work you referenced, music you used, etc. For an example of show notes see This Podcast Will Kill You, Episode 56 “Sickle Cell Disease: Invisible Illness, Enduring Strength.”
Credits within the podcast audio
If the podcast is a standalone production, one solution is to give credits at the end of the podcast. See “In the Dark” episode 20 at 1:02:45 as an example of narrated credits.
