Help

Request for Assistance from the Research Computing team has been integrated into the campus-wide helpdesk system. Please submit requests at www.lehigh.edu/help and select 'Research Computing' to make your submission.

For prompt response, please consider the following when submitting a ticket

  • Very short summary of the issue as a subject.
    • Examples:
      • Sol: Unable to submit jobs to lts partition
      • Sol: Job error - no space on disk
      • Sol: Cannot run jobs - AssocGrpCPUMinutesLimit
    • Do not describe your issue in the subject with no content.
  • System, Software and Partition where you are having an issue.
  • Detailed description of your issue including modules loaded, and location of input, output and error files.
    • If you have an error to report, paste the error message. Do not take a snapshot and upload the image.
      • An image is not helpful when a long string of characters including directory path or file names needs to be copied.
  • Anything else that you think may be necessary for us to understand and find a resolution to your issue.

  • Software requests
    • Name of software and URL to download.
    • If there is a cost associated, please visit https://lts.lehigh.edu/services/software. If you have already paid for it, more information is below.
    • If the software requires a license, please complete the license form and provide a copy in your request.
    • If software is behind a paywall or account, please download the software, copy it over to Sol and provide location from where we can copy it for installation.
    • Who will be using the software?
      • We know that my favorite software is extremely popular, can/will be used by everyone on campus but we would like to know who specifically will be using it on Sol.

  • Account/Allocation requests
    • For faster response, please ask your faculty advisor to make the request.
    • Students making request should add their faculty advisor to the request. Request will only be approved after confirmation by faculty advisor.
    • If your group does not have an allocation, please ask your faculty advisor to request allocations.
