LUapps

LUapps is a virtual software delivery system that allows users to access a variety of software titles.  In most cases, the software available via LUapps is the newest version available.

Download the software to your computer

Faculty/Staff only.

Required: You must install Virtual CloneDrive before installing SAS. 

1. Go to the Software Page and click the green button to download the installer. This is an .iso file and it is 24+ GB. It may take up to an hour to download 

2. Run the .iso file

  • Find the .iso file in your file explorer. It may be in the Downloads folder
  • Double click the .iso file to mount it. It will appear in one of your open drives such as E or F, and labeled BD-ROM
  • In your file explorer, go to the new drive and find the file named “setup.exe”. Right-click on setup.exe and choose Run as Administrator. (The file may appear to be named “setup” – the file type should be Application, and if you right-click on it and choose Properties, you should see the file extension is .exe)

3. The Installer Wizard will open. Choose your language and continue

4. In the "Select Deployment Task" screen, choose "Install SAS software"

5. Choose a directory for the program – the location on the computer where the program is stored

6. In the “Select Deployment Type” screen, choose "Install SAS Foundation and Related Software"

7. In the “Select Products to Install” screen choose the items you need. Deselecting items will decrease the size of the final program. If you are interested in the Enterprise Miner, select “SAS Enterprise Miner Workstation Configuration”

8. In the “Select SAS Foundation Mode” and “Guide Mode” screens, choose 64 bit

9. In the “Select SAS Foundation Products” screen, choose the items you need. Deselecting items will decrease the size of the final program

10. In the “Specify SAS Installation Data File” screen, click Browse, then select the .txt file that appears, then click open

If you receive an error, return to the Lehigh Software SAS page. Click the green download button and choose the .txt file – this is the file you will need to enter. Click download and remember where you save it. Return to the Installation Wizard, click Browse, then go to the folder where the recent .txt is. Select it and click open.

11. In the following screens, you may choose to keep the defaults

12. In the Deployment screen, click Start to begin installation. This will take about an hour

13. Delete the initial installer from your Downloads folder to free up space on your computer

Renew license for a local installation

  1. On your computer, open the Start menu, and search for “Renew SAS Software”
  2. Run the program Renew SAS Software
  3. Follow the on-screen steps – you will be asked for the Installation Data File
  4. Open a new browser window and go to the SAS Software page. Click the green download button and choose the .txt file – this is the file you will need to enter. Click download and remember where you save it. Return to the Installation Wizard, click Browse, then go to the folder where the recent .txt is. Select it and click open.
  5. Click next and follow on-screen instructions
