Lehigh provides access to multiple versions of Stata. You can use Stata virtually through LUapps or install it locally on your own computer.

LUapps

LUapps is a virtual software delivery system that allows users to access a variety of software titles.  In most cases, the software available via LUapps is the newest version available.

Download the software to your own computer

Go to Lehigh's Software Page to find the installer and license information. Stata uses multiple pieces of info as the license including a serial number, code, and authorization.

Go to Sata's Installation Guide for a full step-by-step guide to download and install the software, and activate the license. The following information is a supplement to the full guide, and provides information about the Lehigh-specific license(s).

Windows/Mac Instructions

1. Go to the Software Page and click the green button to download the installer. Choose the correct option for your OS (Mac/Windows/Linux)
2. Open the installer. In Windows, run the exe file and grant permission to "make changes to this device". In Mac, open the dmg file and double click the Install Stata icon.
3. Follow the installation window prompts. Click Continue/Next and agree to the license agreement
4. Select the "Installation Type" from the "Licensed Software" field in the license document on the Software Page
5. Choose the location for the Stata program and the default location where files will be saved 
6. When the installation is finished, launch Stata
7. Next, enter the license information. Enter your personal name, the Organization "Lehigh University", and the license information located in the license document on the Software Page
8. You may select options to allow automatic updates. New versions of Stata may require a complete uninstall/reinstall
