Google provides several means of downloading or transferring your data from a Google Account (like a Lehigh Google Account) to an archive file, or direct to other services, such as Dropbox or other cloud services, or transferring it to another Google account.

The first hurdle can simply be specifying _what_ data you want to transfer.  The next hurdle is that such files can be _quite large_, and may be broken into multiple files.

Google Instructions:

How to Download Your Google Data

Copy Content from your School Account to Another Google Account

Lehigh Recommended Download Procedure (Get an Archive)

  1. Go to Download your Data
  2. Click "Deselect all"
  3. Scroll through the types of files and data, putting a "check" next to items you would like to export such as "Drive", "Mail", or "Photos"
  4. Note and select options for different data types (such as export file types for Drive files)
  5. Scroll to the bottom, and click "Next Step"
  6. Under 'Destination' set the 'Transfer to' pull-down to 'Send Download link via email' or 'Add to Dropbox'
  7. Click 'Create export' or 'Link accounts and create export'
  8. If you chose 'Add to Dropbox', follow the on screen prompts to log into Dropbox with your Lehigh email, and select your Lehigh Dropbox account to transfer to.
  9. When the export finishes or when the file is ready for download, you'll receive an email.  Follow any instructions therein to download or access your files.

Lehigh Recommended Transfer Procedure (to another Google account)

Please note:  LTS has seen some failures with transferring to another account, and google does not offer support for these issues. In that case, please use the download procedure above.

  1. On your school account, go to Transfer your content.
  2. Enter the email address of the Google Account where you want to copy your content.
  3. Select Get code.
  4. On your Google Account, check your Gmail inbox for a confirmation email from Google. In the email, select Get confirmation code. A new tab will open with a code.
  5. On your school account, go back to the "Transfer your content" page. Enter the code, then choose Verify.
  6. Choose the content you'd like to copy, then select Start transfer.
