Install Cisco Jabber
- Download Cisco Jabber from the Google Play Store.
- Download Jabber. The Jabber icon is here:
- Open Cisco Jabber once install completes
- Accept the End User Agreement on your Android Phone.
- Toggle through offerings by swiping left.
- Tap Get Started to grant permission to Cisco Jabber.
- Select Allow or Deny for Cisco Jabber to access your personal contacts. Your preference.
- Select Allow Cisco Jabber to make and manage phone calls.
- Select Allow for Jabber to access photos, media or files on device
- Select Allow for Jabber to record Audio
- Select Allow to let the application run in the background.
- In field labeled username@company.com, enter your userid@lehigh.edu
- Tap Continue
- In password field enter your Lehigh password
- Biometric Authentication - Select if fingerprint is desired.
- Select OK on the screen noting that Cisco Jabber should not be used for 911 calls
Configuration Settings
Your client is ready to send and receive phone calls but below are possible configuration changes you might want to investigate. To configure your Cisco Jabber client, swipe right, then select settings, and choose one of the tabs.
Sounds:
- Choose to receive calls with Cisco Jabber and ringtone
Vibrate:
- Choose option for Cisco Jabber
Privacy:
- Enable biometric authentication
Status:
- Start Cisco Jabber when device starts
Display:
- Show contact photo
Call Options:
- Recommended: Use Audio only
Call Forwarding:
- Recommended: Do not forward calls
Important information
- Cisco Jabber must be open and running in the background on your phone in order to receive calls. Otherwise, the call will go to voicemail.
