Benefits of a Password Manager:
What is Keeper Password Manager?
Keeper Password Manager is a cybersecurity tool for storing, managing, and sharing passwords and other sensitive information using a single master password.
What is Keeper Password Manager
Keeper is a password management tool that allows you to keep track of all of your work passwords in a secure vault and access them with a single password. Having to only remember a single password, allows you to create and use really strong and complex passwords for each and every account you have
Why did we switch from LastPass to Keeper?
After several LastPass data breaches of encrypted customer password vaults, Library and Technology Services has decided to suspend new Lehigh LastPass enrollment on January 3rd, 2023, and then later decided to switch to a more robust Password manager.
Getting started
Keeper has an app for computer and mobile devices and a browser extension that Kepper refers to it as KeeperFill browser extensionfor use on the web. The Desktop application will allow users to transfer vaults from LastPass without having to import/export CSV files.- Enroll in Lehigh Keeper on Lehigh's Enrollment Portal
Faculty and staff must enroll in Keeper through Lehigh's Keeper Self-Enrollment Portal.
On the web page, click on the 'Enroll' button.
This will initiate the provisioning process, which will result in an email invitation to join Keeper password manager, but can take up to two hours.
It uses encryption to prevent data breaches and other cyberattacks.
It has the following features:
Password generation: Automatically generates strong passwords
Digital vault: Stores passwords, passkeys, payment cards, and other information in an encrypted vault
Access: Access passwords from any device, including mobile devices, tablets, and computers
Autofill: Autofills passwords across sites and apps
Sharing: Shares passwords with other Keeper users or with people who don't have a Keeper account Two-factor authentication: Supports two-factor authentication (2FA) into the vault
Security audit: Assesses the strength of each password and checks if it's reused or weak
Getting started
Keeper offers desktop and mobile applications and a browser extension called KeeperFill for web usage. The desktop app allows vault transfers from other password managers without importing or exporting CSV files.
