The following applications are available on the portal (documentation coming soon)

  • Virtual Desktops
  • Jupyter Notebooks
  • RStudio Server
  • Abaqus CAE
  • Ansys Workbench
  • GNU Octave
  • Maple
  • MATLAB
  • Mathematica
  • SAS

Any application that has a GUI can in principle be accessed in the Virtual Desktop application. The following tools are known to work from the MATE and XFCE virtual desktop

  • GaussView
  • GNUPlot
  • Paraview
  • PWGUI
  • PyMOl
  • VESTA
  • VMD
  • XCrySDen

However, it should be noted that a full desktop environment is not installed on the compute nodes. Instead, MATE and XFCE desktop environments are bundled in a singularity container. There may be some peculiarities with the software you are interested in using that this setup may not provide you with a good user experience. Please see Virtual Desktops for more information.
