Installing Cisco Jabber

  1. Download the macOS installation and launch the installationinstaller and run it to install the program
  2. Click Continue when the Welcome screen displays.
  3. Click Continue and Agree after reading the license agreement to accept the terms of the license agreement and continue with the installation.
    You may be prompted to select the disk where you want to install Cisco Jabber. Select your hard drive or another location on your computer and then click Continue.
  4. Click Install to perform the standard installation.
  5. You may be prompted for your administrator account password; if so, enter your administrator account password and click Install Software.
  6. When the software has finished installing, click Close.
  7. Double-click the Cisco Jabber application icon to launch Jabber from the Applications folder.
  8. For the first time signing in, at Cisco Jabber screen, enter your full Lehigh email and click Continue. Note: The first time through, you will need to enter your full email address to register with the server. Subsequent sign-ins, you can use just your 4- or 6-digit Username (i.e. lh00).
  9. Enter your Lehigh password and click Sign In
  10. The first time you may be prompted to update your macOS security settings.

  • Cisco Jabber must be open in order to receive calls. Otherwise, the call will go to voicemail.
  • Cisco Jabber can only be active on ONE desktop device. You may not be in Jabber on multiple macOS and/or Windows machines. Cisco Jabber can be active on both a desktop and mobile device, however.
  • Video service via Jabber is not currently available.
  • The MacOS Jabber client will occasionally require updating.  When this occurs, you will be prompted to accept the update.
