You can also embed most Google files in your course site using the "Google Embed Tool". The Google he Google Assignments file embed tool automatically manages file-sharing permissions so the course can access and view the files. Why would this be useful? For instance, if you would like to link your syllabus that you created in a google Google doc each semester and update as the semester progresses, you can.  Students will then not have to download an updated version, but rather just click on a link to your embedded syllabus and not have to leave your course site.  If If you embed a google Google file in your course and make changes, then your embedded file in your course is also updated.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to preserve your files (such as a syllabus)  "as is" each semester and keep preserved copies, then you might NOT want to use the Google File Embed Tool. You may choose to add your google Google file as a URL link instead.

Google File embed does not currently work with Google Forms – but here is a workaround.


Proper Use of Media Files
