Professors: If you have provisioned your course for Panopto from course site, your videos will automatically be made available to your students in the Panopto block on your course if you have added to your Panopto course folder.  By default, Students have view only access. As a best practice, you should always log into Panopto from course site by clicking on course settings.

You can share a video by adding specific people to the video using their lehigh email address, or change the access to allow anyone at lehigh to view it, or anyone at all. The sharing permissions for Panopto work much the same way as Google file sharing.  You can share an entire folder or an individual video.

Anyone can share a Panopto video or a Panopto folder by using a URL.

You can log into Panopto website directly.  Go to go.lehigh.edu/Panopto OR https://lehighonline.hosted.panopto.com and login to Panopto via Course Site.  You will need to log in using your Lehigh credentials.

User must have the correct permissions to view your video. If your video is in your provisioned course folder, students will have the proper permissions and they will need to sign into your course to view.

Make Videos Available as a WebLink 

Anyone can share Panopto videos outside of course site or in multiple courses by using a URL. Please be advised that you should review WHO HAS ACCESS to the link you are trying to share.

If you are using the default Panopto course folder for your course site, your students should have access automatically.

To share video, To share video (or folder), keep Panopto browser window open.   (If you accidentally closed, click the “Course Settings” link in Panopto block. Close the recording settings window.)

You can now add share a link to your new video in your course video  as needed.

  1. Hover your mouse over the video you wish to edit.
  2. Click on Share icon.
  3. Copy the link listed. (COPY -highlight link & CTRL C)
  4. Return to your course in course site window.
  5. Turn editing on if required.
  6. Go to the topic or section of the course that you would like to add your video to.
  7. Select Add URL resource.
  8. Name your video link.
  9. Paste URL. (PASTE highlight link & CTRL V)
  10. Leave settings at default.
  11. Click save and display.

OR You can embed a video manually by following the directions below or (EASIER!) you can use the Embed tool.

  1. Hover your mouse over the video you wish to edit.
  2. Click on Share.
  3. Copy and paste the Embed Code listed. (COPY -highlight link & CTRL C)
  4. Return to your course in course site window.
  5. Turn editing on if required.
  6. Go to the topic or section of the course that you would like to add your video to.
  7. Select desired activity or resource.
  8. Click on HTML editor. (see image above)
  9. Paste embed code. (PASTE highlight link & CTRL V)
  10. Leave settings at default.
  11. Click save and display.Then paste it into an email, course assignment, word doc, or slack message – (however, you wish) to send the link to your video.

Note: Faculty and Students, if you use the default Panopto course folder for your course site, the proper permissions should be set automatically.
