With the virtual whiteboard feature, you can write and/or collaborate together on your screen and share it with participants in a Zoom session. The whiteboard feature can be accessed from the screen sharing menu.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a host/moderator of the Zoom meeting/session.

How to use/share the virtual whiteboard

  1. Click on the share button.
  2. Choose to share the Whiteboard.
  3. Click share.

NOTE: If this is your first time using zoom as a host/moderator, you may have to grant zoom access to share your desktop.

Once you are sharing your whiteboard, you should be see your video feed, the annotation toolbar, and the meeting control bar.

  • You are able to customize and move your windows and toolbars.  If you can't see your annotation toolbar, click on the whiteboard icon that appears when you hover your mouse at the top of the screen.


Click on the MORE button in the meeting control bar, to control who is able to annotate or show the names of those annotating the screen.

Sharing your screen and using other annotation tools

If you prefer, you can use other tools to create handwritten content in a screen sharing session.
