These instructions are for any Lehigh user needing to manually map their personal LAN drive (H-drive) on computers that are not in Active Directory (AD), such as personally-owned machines. These instructions may also be useful for users who are traveling or living off-campus and connecting to the Lehigh network via the Lehigh VPN.  Click on the screen shots to see an enlarged view.

1.  First, make sure you're connected to the Lehigh campus network, using either an Ethernet cable, Lehigh wireless, or over the internet using the VPN

2.  Right-Click on your Computer or This PC icon and choose Map Network Drive from the contextual menu.

3.  Select H: from the "Drive" pull-down.

4.  In the "Folder:" box, enter the full path to your personal LAN storage directory, according to the format shown by substituting "<username>" with your Lehigh username:

\\homefs.cc.lehigh.edu\home\<username>

For example:

\\homefs.cc.lehigh.edu\home\dhj210

5.  If this computer is always connected to the Lehigh network, check the box for Reconnect at logon (or sign-in).

6.  Click Finish.

7.   If you are prompted for a username and password, add the prefix 'ad\' to your username (e.g. 'ad\dhj210'), and use your Lehigh username and password.

This process may also be used to overwrite a non-functioning mapped drive already assigned to the H: designation on your personal computer. When prompted, allow the mapping to override your existing mapped drive. If your H: designation has already been assigned and you do not wish to overwrite it, simply pick any unused letter to map the storage drive to.
