Creating accessible Google documents with Grackle
Grackle is an accessibility tool for Google Docs, Slides and Sheets. This add-on scans your document and offers suggestions on how to make it more accessible.
How to Install Grackle
To install* Grackle:
- Open a Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide.
- Click ‘Add-ons’ and then’ Get add-ons’.
- Enter Grackle in the search field.
- Click on the Add-on you require then click on the free/install button
- For most Google add-ons, a message will appear requesting access to data that the add-on needs to work. Read the message, then click Allow.

*Note Grackle has a separate add-on for each file type, so you will need to install three add-ons (Grackle Docs, Grackle Slides and Grackle Sheets).
