IN Account Activation
Setting up your IN account digital identity is the first step to collaborating with an organizational account. This guide walks you through activating your newly created IN account and enrolling in Duo, our required multi-factor authentication (2FA) platform.
Activation Deadlines & Requirements
30-Day Window: You must activate your IN account within 30 days of its creation. Failure to do so will result in the account being deleted without notice.
Security Requirement: Duo enrollment is mandatory for all Lehigh computing accounts to ensure the safety of your data.
Phase 1: Preparation
Before beginning the online activation, we recommend setting up your authentication device:
Skip this step if you already have the most up to date Duo Mobile app installed.
Download the App: Search for "Duo Mobile" in your device’s app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
Install: Download and open the app on your smartphone or tablet.
Phase 2: Account Activation & Duo Enrollment
Follow these steps exactly as written. Skipping steps or changing the order may result in an error message that will prevent you from continuing.
Navigate to lehigh.edu/change. Enter the username of the IN account and the temporary password provided in your welcome email. Choose change password and click on continue. Follow the remaining steps to activate your new IN Account.
When prompted with "Welcome to Duo Security” click on Get started, then select “Duo Mobile”. If you have not done so already, please download and install the Duo Mobile app specific to your device’s OS.
Choose the option "I have a tablet" this allows for the easiest QR code scanning and setup regardless of your device type and avoids the error “Phone number cannot be added” because your normal Lehigh computing account is associated with the number you may be entering.
Error if attempting to enroll a mobile number already associated with an account.
Open the Duo Mobile app on your phone/tablet, tap +Add and select Use QR Code. Scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen. On your phone, click on save.

Once Duo is linked, you will be prompted to set a unique permanent password for the account. Choose a strong, unique password to complete the process.
