Canva for Campus: Migration information

Canva for Campus: Migration information

In March 2026, LTS entered an agreement with Canva for an enterprise/campus-wide license. Details are below. Check here for updates and new information as we move forward with our implementation.

Great news for students!

All students will have free access to Canva. Students do not need to take action.

  • Students who already have an @lehigh.edu free or Pro (consumer) account will be notified that their account will migrate into the Lehigh domain. After the migration, they start logging in via Lehigh single sign-on with Lehigh credentials. Students with an @lehigh.edu account should look for an alert within Canva.

  • Students with a free or paid Canva account using their personal email can log into their Lehigh account, and then share files from their old account if they desire.

  • Students currently paying for their own active Canva Pro subscription can receive a pro-rated rebate by following refund request instructions (see below).

Lehigh staff Canva subscriptions

Canva for Campus offers many new benefits and features for staff Canva account holders, including:

  • Access to the University Communications and Public Affairs (UCPA) Lehigh branding kit (themes, fonts, templates, colors, and graphic elements)

  • Enterprise-managed teams, delegated management,  and collaboration tools

  • Enterprise-managed content (supporting staff transitions and offboarding)

  • Robust local training and support

  • Single sign-on (SSO) with Lehigh credentials

Some of these features, such as single-signon, will be available right away, while other features such as branding and team management, may be phased in or implemented department by department. LTS and UCPA are working to coordinate a transition that is as smooth and seamless as possible. We appreciate your patience and hope you are as excited as we are to bring this service to campus.

New user? Staff who do not have an account can request access from LTS at http://go.lehigh.edu/sw and can be provisioned for $120/year. Part of the cost of an enterprise license is covered by LTS.

Current Subscription holders

Information below is current as of March 26, 2026.

What is the timeline for the transition?

Beginning in late spring, Canva account holders using an @lehigh.edu email start moving to the lehigh.edu domain.

Some features, such as single sign-on, will be available right away, while others—such as branding and team management—will roll out over the coming weeks, in some cases by department. LTS and UCPA are working to ensure a smooth transition. We will follow up with a more detailed announcement soon.

How will this impact my Canva account?

  • Paid (Pro) users with an @lehigh.edu login can request an invitation to migrate – or they will be transitioned automatically early this summer. At the time of transfer they will provide an index number. Those with “time left” on their Pro subscription can request a pro-rated refund from Canva.

  • Free users with an @lehigh.edu login will have two options: 1) Join Lehigh’s Canva enterprise account for $120 per year, or 2) Switch the account to a personal email (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo).

All @lehigh.edu account holders will become enterprise accounts and will require an index number. Paid users can request a pro-rated refund from Canva (see below).

What happens with subscription payments?

LTS is partially subsidizing the cost of an enterprise subscription, so staff will pay $120/year—the same as the current Canva Pro rate.

  • Pro subscriptions tied to @lehigh.edu accounts will convert to the enterprise subscription.

  • Account holders with @lehigh.edu logins will be asked to provide an index number for billing.

  • Those who have an active paid subscription may request a prorated refund for the unused portion (see below).

How do I request a refund for my Canva Pro subscription?

AFTER YOU MIGRATE..

For monthly (personal) plans:

  1. Log into your personal paid Canva account.

  2. Click the purple question mark in the bottom right-hand corner to open the help assistant.

  3. Type “Lehigh University Enterprise refund” and follow the prompts.

For annual or multi-team personal plans (do this after you migrate):

  1. Log into your personal paid Canva account or team.

  2. Go to Canva Support :[https://www.canva.com/help/get-in-touch/contact-support/?no_redirect]

  3. Select the following options:

    1. Issue category: Payments, pricing and billing

    2. Issue: I want to request a refund for my plan

    3. Select the applicable invoice

    4. Refund reason: None of the above

  4. In the description box, paste the following message: Hi Canva Support, can you cancel my personal Canva subscription? I am joining my employer's Enterprise account. Can you please provide a refund for any outstanding balances?"

What if I want to opt out?

All Canva accounts using an @lehigh.edu email will be included in the enterprise license.

To opt out, you must switch your Canva account to a personal email address. Canva will provide instructions for doing this. Any account using an @lehigh.edu email will automatically be part of the enterprise subscription.

I’m using a departmental or IN account—what should I do?

Departmental or IN accounts cannot be used with Canva enterprise licenses. In addition, account sharing of this type is not permitted under Canva’s Terms of Service, which require individual user accounts.

To comply, contact LTS at go.lehigh.edu/comp (put “Canva IN migration” in the subject line). An LTS staff member will reach out to assist you to faciliate migrating. You will:

  • Transition shared IN accounts to individual Lehigh user accounts

  • Ensure each user has their own license if multiple people need access

  • Share existing designs/files from the departmental account to new individual accounts

  • Provide an index number. Each individual account incurs a $120 annual charge.

I currently have a teams account with multiple team members. What should I do?

Each team member will migrate to the Lehigh enterprise platform (we can invite each team member). Designs and content can be shared within the Lehigh enterprise platform.

I am using a lehigh.edu alias. How will I migrate?

Before you migrate, go to Settings in your account and update your email to a personal email. Then request an activation link from LTS.

What are the steps to migrating?
