Panopto LTI
Using the Panopto LTI Integration
To add a video to your course site using the Panopto LTI integration:
On your course page, click the button to add a new activity or resource to the section of your page where you’d like to post a link to your Panopto video and select the Panopto activity icon:
On the next page, click the select content button at the top of the screen. This will open a window that will guide you through the process of adding your video.
You can choose to have the video ungraded, graded based on percentage viewed, or grade based on quiz results. If you choose to grade based on percentage viewed, or embedded video quiz results, a grade item will be created and linked to your course site gradebook for this video.
Grading Panopto Videos in Course Site
For videos graded based on percentage viewed, it may take 3-24 hours for the Panopto LTI to automatically pass the grade to your Course Site gradebook. Panopto will track how much of the video was played to calculate the percentage viewed total (students will not be able to skip ahead to the end of the video and have any unseen content count toward their percentage viewed).
For videos graded on quiz results, you can follow this guide to insert a quiz for grading: How to Insert a Panopto Video with a Quiz for Grading in Moodle. Quiz grades will be averaged if multiple quizzes are in the same video, and will be passed to your gradebook immediately.
After selecting a grading method, you’ll be given options to record a new video, choose an existing Panopto video from your folder, or upload a video file from your computer.
Recording Videos with Panopto
If you’re recording a new video, you can use Panopto’s built-in browser capture feature, or record with the downloadable Panopto Recorder:
Viewing Panopto Content in Course Site
After recording or selecting your video content, click the green insert button at the bottom right corner of the window to add your video directly to your course page. Your Panopto activity will appear as a clickable link on your course page that goes directly to your newly embedded video:
