How to Know if your Windows Computer's Hard Drive is Encrypted

The quickest way to check on your Windows computer’s hard drive encryption status is to look at the ‘This PC’ view in Windows explorer. Hard drive icons with ‘padlock’ badges are ones that are encrypted. The ‘unlocked padlock’ indicates that you are logged into the system with an account that has full access to the drive, and that it is ‘encrypted at rest’.

Drives without the padlock badge are not encrypted.
