Gemini Gems

Gemini Gems

Gems are customized agents built on top of Gemini. These are considered agents, sometimes called chatbots, that allow users to create specific instructions for tasks such as summarizing a document.

Create a Gem

  1. While in Google Gemini, on the left-hand menu, you should see Gems menu, click on Explore Gems.

  2. From here, you can explore Gems that have been created by others. You have the option to click on + New Gem to create your own Gem.

  3. Enter the Name for your Gem

  4. For the Instructions, you will want to use this to guide the model for what you want it to do. For example, if you were going to create an onboarding agent, you would tell the model to only answer questions related to the documents uploaded. This way, the model will only be trained on the documents you upload.

  5. For Knowledge, upload any documents that will help guide your agent. In continuing this above example, we would upload documents that help in answering questions about onboarding new employee.

  6. Click Save and use your new Gem, which should be listed on the left menu.

Share Gem

You can now share a Gem that you have created with others. The Gem link will be persistent, and as you save your updates, anyone who uses your Gem will have the most up-to-date version. You can work collaboratively on building a Gem by adding others as editors, or you can share a view-only copy.
