Librechat - LLM Gateway
What is Librechat?
LibreChat is an open source LLM Gateway that provides a single gateway user interface to many models. It allows for access models via API which allows us to pay on a per API call basis vs a per user, per month costs. This allows for us to be cost effective in our use of AI models while providing equitable access to all students, faculty, and staff. Having the gateway also allows for us to control security for the back end ensuring we have the controls in place so our data is not used to train their models.
The benefit of using Librechat is to learn more about prompt engineering, the effects of changing parameters for models such as temperature, Top P, and Top K. You can change vendors and models in the same chat to compare the results. You can also share chats with a link and export them into a PDF, text file, JSON, and other formats.
Can I put protected data in Librechat?
While we have added security, protected data should never be sent to any AI models and LibreChat is not approved for using protected data. More information on Lehigh Data Classification as it related to AI can be found at Understanding Data Classification .
How can I get started with Librechat?
Librechat is available to all faculty and graduate students while on the campus network, Lehigh wireless network, or VPN. You can sign in using your Lehigh credentials at https://librechat.lehigh.edu/.
The LLM Gateway is an addition to the suite of Google AI tools available to all campus users, including Gemini, Gems, AI Studio, NotebookLM snd Co-Pilot.
