These instructions are for any Lehigh user needing to manually map their personal LAN drive (H-drive) on computers that are not in Active Directory (AD), such as personally-owned machines. These instructions may also be useful for users who are traveling or living off-campus and connecting to the Lehigh network via the Lehigh VPN. Click on the screen shots to see an enlarged view.

This process may also be used to overwrite a non-functioning mapping already assigned to the H: designation on your computer. When prompted in Step 6, allow the mapping to override your existing mapped drive. |
1. First, make sure you're connected to the Lehigh campus network, using either an Ethernet cable, Lehigh wireless, or over the internet using the VPN.
2. Right Right-ClickComputer or on your "This PC" icon and choose choose "Map Network Drive" from the contextual menu.
3. Select Select "H:" from the "Drive" pull-down.

If your H: designation has already been assigned, and you do not wish to overwrite it, simply pick any unused letter to map the storage drive. |
4. In the "Folder:" box, enter the full UNC path to your personal LAN storage directory, according to the format shown, by substituting "<username>" with your Lehigh username (click on the screenshot to enlarge it):

5. If this computer is always connected to the Lehigh network, check the box for for "Reconnect at logon (or sign-in)".
6. Click Finish.
7. If you are prompted for a username and password, add the
prefix 'prefix "ad\
' to" when entering your
username (e.g. 'ad\dhj210'), and use your Lehigh username and password.Lehigh username:
For example, your Lehigh username were "dab406", the username field should look like:
